The Tone:
This is an internship opportunity with the County of Riverside, located in Riverside County, CA. The County of Riverside is a public sector organization providing a wide range of services to its community. This intern pool allows current undergraduate or graduate students and recent graduates to gain valuable, supervised work experience across various professional fields within county departments. Interns contribute directly to daily operations and special projects, supporting professional staff and learning the functions of their assigned profession.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Support: Assist and participate in the day-to-day work assigned by professional employees in your specific department.
• Research & Analysis: Support special research, studies, surveys, and investigations by compiling, tabulating, and analyzing data and information.
• Report Preparation: Contribute to the preparation of briefs, reports, evaluations, specifications, and plans for departmental projects.
• Meeting Participation: Attend divisional and departmental staff meetings, and prepare reports with observations and suggestions regarding program aspects.
• Professional Assistance: Perform sub-professional assignments to directly support the work of professional staff members.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment in, or recent graduation (within one year) from, a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study. A minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 is required.
• Experience: The ability to take direction and supervision, with a desire to benefit and learn rapidly from on-the-job training in a specific professional vocation.
• Skills: Ability to think logically, write clearly and concisely, compile data, perform arithmetical computations, analyze statistical data, prepare reports, and maintain cooperative relations with co-workers and the public.
• Bonus: Knowledge of the goals and functions of the specific profession to which assigned.
