Job Title: Student Intern, Learning & Development

Mark Thomas is actively seeking a Student Intern to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting our learning development program and various initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience within corporate training, instructional design, and educational technology.

The Learning and Development Intern will be instrumental in the development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of our learning programs and systems. This includes assisting with the administration of our Learning Management System (LMS), contributing to the design of instructional content, and ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience for all learners.

You will work collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs), trainers, and other key stakeholders to create compelling learning materials and maintain precise training records. General Responsibilities:

  • Supports the administration and maintenance of the LMS platform.
  • Assists in the design and development of instructional materials and eLearning modules.
  • Collaborates with trainers and SMEs to gather content and feedback.
  • Ensures accurate tracking and reporting of training activities.
  • Provides technical support to learners and instructors.
  • Upholds data integrity and compliance with training standards.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Uploads and organizes course content efficiently within the LMS.
  • Designs basic instructional materials utilizing tools such as Articulate, PowerPoint, and Clipchamp.
  • Tests and troubleshoots eLearning modules and LMS functionality to ensure optimal performance.
  • Generates comprehensive reports on training completion and learner progress.
  • Researches, reviews, and recommends new content for integration into the LMS.
  • Actively participates in team meetings and contributes to project planning.
  • Supports virtual and in-person training sessions as required.
  • Promotes and ensures inclusive and accessible learning experiences for all.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned to support the L&D team.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with various LMS platforms (e.g., LearnUpon, Moodle, Canvas, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with eLearning authoring tools is a plus.

(California locations only) The offered base rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
