Job Description:
ACHD is seeking a Student Intern for their Materials Laboratory. This is a paid internship with an hourly salary of $16.00 per hour and focuses on providing hands-on experience in Engineering and Construction Materials.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in sampling and testing of soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete in the field and laboratory, ensuring compliance with District standards and specifications.
Qualifications:
• Experience and/or knowledge of basic construction and engineering construction practices and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of materials used in construction and roadway development.
• Must be organized and able to perform mathematical calculations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and ability to perform written work.
• Construction Management or Civil Engineering major is preferred.
• Must be a full-time student.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Driver’s License.
Work Schedule:
• Flexible schedule: Maximum of 24 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during school breaks.
