Job Description
This is a Student Employee-School of Agricultural Sciences-Research Employee position, classified as a Student Employee, likely falling under a College Work Study framework.
Position Details:
• Title: Student Employee-School of Agricultural Sciences-Research Employee
• Positions Available: Six undergraduate student interns will be hired.
• Program Name: USDA Research and Extension Experiences for Undergraduates (REEU) program.
• Purpose: The overarching goal is to provide undergraduate students with valuable research and extension experience, thereby preparing them for the agricultural education workforce or for graduate studies.
• Duration: The internship runs for 8 weeks, from June 2 to July 25, 2025.
• Location: Interns will work on the Huntsville campus of SHSU.
• Hours: Interns are expected to work 28 hours per week.
• Hiring Rate: The compensation is $15.38 per hour.
• Supervisor: All interns will report directly to Dr. Danhong Chen.
Responsibilities:
As part of this program, the undergraduate interns will be actively involved in various tasks, including:
• Helping to teach lessons.
• Collecting surveys.
• Analyzing survey results.
• Creating research reports based on their findings.
