The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Student Assistant Intern to support their Human Resources team. This role is ideal for English, Communications, or Human Resources majors with strong writing skills and attention to detail.

Job Description:

The Student Assistant Intern will be responsible for assisting the Human Resources team with various tasks related to written communication and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proofread and edit Human Resources documents for grammar, tone, and consistency.
• Review and standardize Human Resources templates (offer letters and memos) for accuracy and professionalism.
• Draft clear and concise internal communications (announcements, newsletters, memos).
• Collaborate with Human Resources team members to identify and resolve inconsistencies in documentation.
• Support other Human Resources projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Major in English, Communications, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong command of grammar, style, and business-appropriate tone.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Additional Information:

• The position can be part-time or full-time.
• Fingerprinting and a background check may be required.
