Structural Engineering Internship – Summer 2026 | AE2S (Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, LLC)
The Tone:
This is a Structural Engineering Internship at AE2S, located in Grand Forks, ND. AE2S is an organization that works on diverse projects, including schools, water treatment plants, universities, and various environmental structures. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience by contributing to real-world projects alongside experienced engineers and project managers. What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Perform structural analysis and design calculations under direct supervision of licensed engineers.
• Documentation: Create and review engineering documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with diverse project teams to achieve project objectives and integrate structural designs.
• Site Monitoring: Conduct construction observations and prepare site reports for inter-discipline projects.
• Quality Control: Examine construction submittals to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field, with at least one semester completed and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Experience: Academic experience in civil or structural engineering coursework. Readiness to travel as required for project needs.
• Skills: Foundational understanding of structural analysis and design principles, ability to contribute to technical reports, and strong teamwork capabilities.
• Bonus: Completion of at least four semesters towards a relevant bachelor’s degree, proficiency with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, RAM, RISA, Enercalc, or Mathcad, and active participation in campus organizations or volunteer groups.
