Structural Engineering Intern

About the Job

Walter P Moore offers an exciting internship program designed for well-prepared students from top engineering schools who are eager to expand their education in structural engineering. This program provides practical, hands-on experience within a leading international firm.

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Intern in our Structural Engineering Group, you will:

  • Actively participate on project teams, contributing to the structural design of diverse architectural projects.
  • Gain exposure to a wide range of building types, including:
    • Commercial buildings
    • Sports facilities
    • Healthcare facilities
    • Public assembly buildings
    • Other architectural projects
  • Be eligible to participate in our valuable in-house staff development program, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess a sound technical background, strong communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for the challenges involved in designing great structures.

  • Education:
    • Completion of a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or Architecture, OR
    • Completion of a minimum of 24 hours of engineering/architectural coursework towards a BS in Engineering.
    • Accepted in or plans to apply for a graduate program in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Certifications:
    • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Strong technical background.
    • Enthusiasm for structural design challenges.
  • Availability:
    • Flexible scheduling, but must be consistently available a minimum of 20 hours per week.
