Associate, Strategy and Corporate Development | Blue Owl Capital

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Blue Owl Capital, located in New York, NY. Blue Owl is a leading asset manager that offers private capital solutions to drive long-term growth and differentiated alternative investment opportunities across Credit, Real Assets, and GP Strategic Capital. This role is crucial for evaluating and executing strategic transactions, including whole company acquisitions, strategic investments, and partnerships, which directly supports the firm’s overall growth and strategic direction. The successful candidate will participate in the full lifecycle of transactional execution, contributing analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to the Strategy and Corporate Development group.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Initiatives: Support firmwide strategic initiatives, including asset management acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, and new business opportunities.
• Modeling: Conduct extensive financial modeling, valuation analysis, and transaction structuring to inform strategic decision-making across various business situations.
• Analysis: Prepare valuation and other investment analyses to support comprehensive transaction activity.
• Presentations: Develop presentation materials to facilitate internal transaction approval, pipeline review, and other governance processes.
• Project Management: Manage strategic projects, develop implementation plans, and facilitate their transition into business execution as appropriate.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or GP stakes, with knowledge of the Alternative Asset Management industry.
• Skills: Strong experience in financial modeling and valuation, including building complex financial models and command of the deal process management cycle; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; strong written and verbal communication skills to analyze and effectively communicate complex financial and strategic issues; ability to leverage AI as a tool to drive efficiency.
