Baseline Requirements for the Strategic Student Program:
- Currently enrolled as a university student (undergraduate or graduate) in their Sophomore year or above.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Available to work part time starting Fall 2026
- Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship by the company
- Available to work in a fully remote environment

Job Summary:
Siemens is seeking an aerospace engineering intern to work with the FlightStream product team for summer 2026. FlightStream is a cutting-edge panel method flow solver used by aircraft designers and engineers around the globe. To ensure that we are delivering the best product possible to users, we need to be able to quickly and thoroughly validate the results coming from FlightStream. This intern will work closely with the FlightStream development team to fill a need for automated validation and regression testing. This intern will gain valuable skills in Python scripting and become an expert FlightStream user.
What You Will Do:
- Help identify gaps in the current FlightStream regression testing suite
- Expand the current suite of regression tests to fully capture FlightStream functionality
- Automate validation cases to quickly evaluate upgrades to the FlightStream solvers against wind tunnel experiments and other literature data
- Assist with DevOps-related tasks where needed
What You Will Need:
Basics:
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and learn new skills and concepts independently
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in mechanical, aerospace, or marine engineering
- Coursework in aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, and/or flight dynamics
- Experience scripting in Python
Preferred:
- Experience using FlightStream
- Experience with pytest or similar frameworks
- Experience analyzing technical reports and extracting relevant data
- Experience creating CAD models from technical drawings

Compensation and Benefits:
The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location, as well as degree type and relevant education.
