Principal Specialist – Strategic Sourcing | Microchip Technology

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimizing procurement processes.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing processes, including market analysis, RFP/RFQ management, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract finalization.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, especially for hard-to-source components, negotiating pricing, and issuing purchase orders to meet cost objectives.
• Monitor and manage supplier performance and relationships, resolving issues, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, and supporting sustainability and diversity initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional teams in strategic sourcing projects, collaborate with internal departments for new product introductions and change control, and prepare sourcing reports for senior management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. This is a senior specialist role focused on strategic sourcing within a complex, multinational environment.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in procurement or supply chain management, with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Skills: Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and project management skills; excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities; strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, market trends, contract law, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Dynamics ERP.
• Bonus: Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are preferred.
