Job Description

Strategic Operations & M&A Associate (Part-Time / Consultant / Equity-Project)

Location: Hybrid (New York / New Jersey Candidates can apply)

Experience: 1–3 Years (Fresh MBA or Top-Tier Undergrad)

Role Type: Part-Time / Consultant / Equity-Project

Education: MBA/ MASTERS IN FINANCE WITH SPECIALIZATION IN INVESTMENT/ MERGERS/ FINANCE (PART TIME / PROJECT BASED).

The Opportunity

Are you a high-achieving graduate from an Ivy League or top-tier institution with a specialization in investment banking, mergers, fundraising, acquisitions or finance? We have developed a disruptive, top-tier Legal SaaS platform that is already winning market share.

We are looking for a part-time Strategic Operations & M&A Associate to work with the founder who is very well known in the legal profession. This is a rare opportunity for MBA graduates and finance majors to work as paid consultants. The company, heading toward a major liquidity/fundraising event, has launched and has been a game changer in the legal market. If you have the heart and mind of an entrepreneur, this is your seat at the table.

Key Responsibilities

  • Valuation & SaaS Metrics: Build and maintain the “source of truth” financial models. You’ll track TAM, SAM, LTV, CAC, Churn, and ARR growth to prove our valuation to investors.
  • Investor Storytelling: Help the Founder craft “Grade-A” pitch decks and narratives for Tier-1 VCs and potential acquirers.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive research into the LegalTech landscape to identify “white space” and competitive advantages.
  • M&A Support: Assist in “exit-readiness” by organizing due diligence data and identifying potential strategic partners.
  • Operational Scoping: Identify bottlenecks in our current workflow and design “out-of-the-box” solutions to scale our Sales and Marketing efforts.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Elite Academic Pedigree: MBA or high-honors Undergraduate degree from a good school or equivalent top-tier institution (Stanford, MIT, Chicago Booth, etc.).
  • Analytical Rigor: You are a “wizard” in Excel/Google Sheets and can build clean, defensible financial models from scratch.
  • The “Owner” Mindset: You aren’t looking for a task list; you are looking for a mission. You are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in a high-stakes environment.
  • Communication Pro: You can write a compelling investment memo and present it with the poise of a seasoned consultant.
  • Tech Savvy: You have a genuine interest in how SaaS and AI are transforming the legal industry.

Compensation & Growth Path

  • Paid Compensation: As a consultant based upon the time spent on the project.
  • Significant Equity Stake: A performance-based vesting schedule (ESOP) designed to provide a life-changing payout upon exit may be considered for the right candidate.
  • Founder Mentorship: Work daily with a successful founder, gaining a “Front-Row Seat” to becoming a top-notch tech leader.
  • Resume Accelerator: This role provides the kind of high-level M&A and Ops experience that usually takes a decade to earn in corporate America.
  • Flexibility: A structured part-time engagement that respects your output over your “hours clocked.”
