Strategic Finance | Luma

• Team: Reports to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborates with functional leads of every department.
• Mission: To oversee models, analyses, and narratives that inform critical business decisions, guide resource allocation, and shape strategic growth initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Own the company’s integrated financial model, including 3-statement projections, scenario analysis, and planning to support flexible resource allocation.
• Strategic Analysis: Conduct strategic analyses for resource deployment, covering competitive positioning, headcount forecasting, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Partnership Support: Support partnerships and agreements through financial modeling for licensing, pricing, and infrastructure investments.
• Operating Models: Build and validate operating models for business units, monitoring unit economics, cohort retention, and capacity utilization.
• Performance Tracking: Design scalable KPI tracking systems that connect product and revenue metrics to financial outcomes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior professional with domain knowledge in financial planning and analysis, corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting within high-growth technology companies.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience with a mix of investment banking, management consulting, or in-house corporate development/FP&A at a high growth technology company.
• Skills: Deep expertise in financial modeling utilizing rigorous quantitative methods, strong comfort level with AI and flexibility in using AI tools for productivity, ability to navigate large datasets to define metrics and build dashboards, proven experience in leading strategic transactions and fundraising communications, and experience preparing materials for Board members and investor groups.
• Bonus: MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field; CFA or CPA certifications; extensive experience building complex, integrated financial models; experience leading projects across departments; and proven ability to communicate, influence, and present to senior leadership and stakeholders.
