Job Description

Lucid Software is offering an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Finance Intern to join its Strategic Finance (FP&A) team. This part-time internship is designed to run during the school year, starting in late August, with interns working approximately 20–25 hours per week. The schedule offers flexibility to accommodate academic commitments.

The intern will be involved in a broad range of projects, including strategic analysis to support Lucid’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial modeling, variance reporting, and various ad hoc assignments. A key aspect of the role will involve working on initiatives to improve existing FP&A processes, which includes efforts in automation, documentation, and streamlining deliverables to align with best practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, proficiency in financial modeling, a solid grasp of finance and accounting concepts, and a proactive desire to find solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Drive improvements in financial reporting and forecasting processes by coordinating with finance team members, the accounting team, and other departments.
• Produce analysis and tracking of strategic initiatives and key company metrics, including the development of supporting models and expected outcomes.
• Communicate financial and accounting information and trends to the management team to facilitate sound, real-time business decisions based on financial data.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables effectively.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as required.

Requirements:
• Currently completing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest and enthusiasm to work in a high-growth tech/software Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company.
• Experience working collaboratively within a team, coupled with strong communication skills.
• Proactive, self-starter, quick learner, and highly motivated.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to scope projects and execute on deliverables, maintaining effective communication throughout the process.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides.
• A bias towards finding solutions rather than shutting down ideas.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in SQL or other programming languages is a plus.
