Job Description

Job Title: Strategic Finance Intern

Department/Team: Strategic Finance (FP&A) team

Job Summary: This is an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Finance Intern to join Lucid Software’s Strategic Finance (FP&A) team. The position involves a wide range of projects, including strategic analysis to support Lucid’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial modeling, variance reporting, and various ad-hoc assignments. The intern will also be instrumental in initiatives aimed at improving existing FP&A processes through automation, documentation, and streamlining deliverables to align with best practices. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical abilities, strong financial modeling skills, a solid grasp of finance and accounting concepts, and a proactive desire to find solutions.

Type: Part-time internship

Duration: The internship is scheduled to begin in late August and continue throughout the school year.

Hours: Interns are expected to work approximately 20–25 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.

Responsibilities:

• Drive improvement of financial reporting and forecasting processes in coordination with finance team members, the accounting team, and other departments.
• Produce analysis and tracking of strategic initiatives and key company metrics, including the development of supporting models and expected outcomes.
• Communicate financial and accounting information and trends to the management team to ensure that real-time business decisions can be made based on sound financial data.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as required.

Requirements:

• Completing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Interested and excited to work in a high-growth tech/software SaaS company.
• Experience in working collaboratively with a team, coupled with strong communication skills.
Proactive, self-starter, quick learner, and highly motivated.
Detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to scope projects and execute on deliverables, communicating effectively throughout the process.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides.
• A bias towards finding solutions versus dismissing ideas.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL or other programming languages is a plus.
