About The Role: Strategic Finance & Business Operations Intern
This is a compelling opportunity to contribute to the foundational development of the Strategic Finance & Business Operations function at a high-growth, pre-IPO company. The intern will assume a critical cross-functional partnering role, acting as a trusted advisor to various teams. Key responsibilities include:

What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Strategic Finance & Business Operations Intern, you will drive cross-functional projects across various departments including Go-to-Market, Product, Supply Chain, and Operations. You should anticipate tackling 2-3 significant projects over the course of the internship, which may include:
- Building comprehensive business cases for new initiatives.
- Improving our forecasting capabilities and refining strategic / financial planning processes.
- Defining key metrics and establishing dashboards to enhance business visibility.
- Solving complex operational issues across the organization.

What You Bring: Qualifications & Skills
- Currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program, with an anticipated graduation in 2027.
- Ability to work at Verkada HQ (San Mateo, CA) for the Summer 2026 internship period.
- 2-5+ years of top-tier professional experience in roles such as Strategic Finance, Business Operations, Private Equity, Investment Banking, or other highly analytical capacities at fast-growing startups.
- Possesses high analytical horsepower paired with strong financial modeling skills. You can effortlessly translate business concepts into well-structured spreadsheet models and are eager to learn new analytical tools and generate insights from data.
- Demonstrates high attention to detail combined with strong strategic instincts. You are meticulous in ensuring precision and accuracy in all outputs, yet possess a strong sense for the 80/20 rule, understanding what passes the “smell test” and distinguishing critical from secondary elements.
- Embodies a growth mindset and is comfortable with ambiguity. You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, capable of creating structure out of undefined situations, managing competing priorities, and pivoting quickly when circumstances change.
- Exhibits excellent communication and partnership skills. You can effectively engage with a diverse array of stakeholders, from sales representatives to engineers, building the credibility and relationships necessary to balance collaborative partnership with constructive challenge. Fantastic written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- A true team player with a low “ego to smarts ratio”. You bring a positive, “learn-it-all” (not “know-it-all”) energy to your teams and are known for being a pleasure to work with.

Pay Disclosure
Verkada is committed to attracting and retaining top talent with competitive compensation. Starting pay is determined by factors such as primary work location, candidate skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. The actual starting base pay may vary above or below the estimated range. Base pay is one component of Verkada’s total rewards package, which may also include sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity (Restricted Stock Units – RSUs) for eligible roles.
Estimated Hourly Pay Range: $62.50—$86 USD
