What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruction: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring and accept instant tutoring requests for graduate-level statistics.
• Guidance: Guide students through designing experiments, performing multivariate analysis, constructing confidence regions, and implementing statistical models in software.
• Explanation: Explain advanced mathematical statistics concepts, including maximum likelihood estimation, Bayesian inference, and asymptotic theory, using multiple approaches.
• Preparation: Prepare master’s and doctoral students for research methodology and doctoral-level statistical analysis.
• Adaptation: Adapt instruction using R or Python statistical computing, research paper examples, and proof-based exercises to support diverse student needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced subject mastery of mathematical statistics, including maximum likelihood estimation, sufficient statistics, hypothesis testing theory, Bayesian inference, regression analysis, multivariate methods, experimental design, and nonparametric statistics.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to break down likelihood function derivations, posterior distribution calculations, and ANOVA decompositions, with familiarity with graduate statistics curricula and common challenges.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, a friendly and engaging teaching style, and the ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with and explain material using multiple approaches to meet individual learning needs.
