Staff Tax Accountant | Baysora Accounting Partners

• Team: Reports to a supervisor or manager, working closely with partners, colleagues, and clients.
• Mission: This person solves the problem of ensuring accurate tax and financial records for clients, preparing tax returns, and supporting tax planning to minimize client tax liability.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Lacerte (preferred), Adobe Acrobat (preferred), QuickBooks (preferred).
What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Return Preparation: Prepare individual and business income tax returns, analyzing client records and financial statements to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Client Advisory & Research: Communicate with clients, supervisors, and partners to gather information, advise on strategies for minimizing tax liability, and conduct tax research as needed.
• Accounting & Bookkeeping: Maintain clients’ bookkeeping and accounting systems, ensuring accurate recording of revenues and expenses, and resolving accounting discrepancies.
• Financial Statement Support: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare adjusting journal entries, assist with financial statement preparation, and provide workpapers for external auditors.
• Client System Guidance: Provide guidance and training to clients regarding their accounting systems to enhance their understanding and proficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or business, and either an active Colorado CPA license, reciprocal license, or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in both tax preparation and general accounting functions.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and general computer hardware/software, excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, acute attention to detail, and critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Lacerte or similar tax software, Adobe Acrobat, and QuickBooks experience.
