Staff Accountant | Poli Construction Inc.

This role is crucial for bringing accounting and HR administration fully in-house, enabling a hands-on operator to manage core accounting workflows, support payroll and HR administration, and enhance systems through automation and process design. • Mission: Run core accounting workflows, support payroll and HR admin, and improve systems through automation and process design.
• Tech Stack: ADP, QuickBooks Online (QBO), Procore
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable & Vendor Management: Own the intake and processing of accounts payable, maintain vendor files, and establish a predictable weekly AP rhythm.
• Payroll & Benefits Support: Coordinate payroll inputs, process payroll with ADP for approximately 40 employees, and manage employee changes affecting payroll and benefits.
• Financial Reconciliations & Close: Manage transaction hygiene, perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, and support month-end close activities to produce timely financials.
• HR Administration & Onboarding: Handle operational HR administration tasks, including onboarding logistics, offer letter support, benefits coordination, and maintaining employee files.
• Process Improvement & Automation: Standardize intake, create SOPs and checklists, build approval routing, and improve reporting visibility through automation and process design.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A 4-year accounting-related degree coupled with 5–10 years of accounting operations experience.
• Experience: Proven experience in strong AP, reconciliations, and month-end support fundamentals, including coordinating payroll runs, preferably with ADP.
• Skills: High ownership, accuracy, and deadline discipline, with a tech-forward mindset for quickly learning systems and improving workflows. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with vendors, project managers, and leadership.
• Bonus: Expertise as a QBO power-user, familiarity with Procore or job-costing, prior HR administration experience, and a track record of documenting processes and implementing automation.
