Staff Accountant I – Professional Accounting Services | M3

This is a Staff Accountant I role at M3, located in Lawrenceville, GA. Built by hoteliers for hoteliers, M3 empowers hotel owners, operators, and management companies to streamline back-office operations, reduce costs, and gain real-time insights. This role is crucial for ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial data to M3’s clients, allowing them to focus on running their businesses effectively.
The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person Lawrenceville, GA
• Team: Part of the Professional Accounting Services team, reporting to an Accounting Supervisor.
• Mission: Perform accounting functions for multiple hotels to deliver accurate and timely financial data to clients.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Accounting: Perform daily bank reconciliations and review daily or monthly daily report journal entries.
• Financial Review: Review payroll journal entries and accounts payable for coding accuracy.
• Month-End Reporting: Compile month-end questions for clients, post monthly recurring entries, and expense prepaids monthly.
• Analytical Tasks: Conduct analytical review of income statements and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Compliance & Reconciliation: Prepare and file sales, use, and occupancy tax returns, alongside monthly reconciliation of asset and liability accounts.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: One or more years of experience required in a directly related accounting position.
• Skills: Organized, Attention to detail, Strong Math skills, Basic use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel, and strong written & verbal communication skills in English.
