Staff Accountant I | HighRes
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at HighRes, located in Beverly, MA. HighRes Biosolutions partners with life science organizations to design, build, integrate, and service intelligent laboratory automation systems and orchestration software, helping accelerate scientific discovery and impact human health. The Finance & Accounting team is crucial to this mission, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financials that keep the company’s operations running smoothly. As HighRes expands, the team is actively enhancing its systems and processes, including an important transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365.

• Mission: This person supports the day-to-day accounting operations across the full accounting cycle, directly contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Drive month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and contributing to financial reporting and analysis.
• Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, from generating customer billing and statements to overseeing collections, processing credits, and applying cash.
• Execute accounts payable operations, which involves vendor setup, precise invoice coding, securing approvals, processing payments, and reconciling vendor accounts.
• Ensure financial accuracy by performing regular bank reconciliations and maintaining comprehensive accounting schedules with supporting documentation.
• Actively participate in the company’s transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) by assisting with system testing, data validation, account mapping, and conversion reconciliations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. This is an entry-level opportunity for an early-career accountant.
• Experience: 0-2 years of professional accounting experience is required; prior internship or co-op experience in an accounting function is considered a strong asset. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and data validation, is essential.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and strong organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple deadlines during month-end close. The role requires clear written and verbal communication abilities, alongside a collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to an ERP or accounting system, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a similar platform, is preferred. A comfort level with learning and adapting to new systems is also beneficial.
