The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Opifex-Synergy, located in Tampa, FL. Opifex-Synergy operates a unique business model in the compact and heavy equipment industry, providing a diverse range of equipment from leading manufacturers to commercial construction firms and local contractors. This Staff Accountant role is crucial for managing advanced reconciliations and essential accounting functions, providing detailed financial insights directly to the CFO. The position supports the company’s financial health and strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis.

• Mission: Own the advanced reconciliations, month-end close entries, and detailed financial reporting to support senior management and the CFO.
• Tech Stack: ERP systems (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Provide and complete detailed financial reports for senior management.
• Analysis: Produce income statement analytics and research any discrepancies found.
• Journal Entries: Prepare all necessary monthly journal entries.
• Reconciliations: Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations accurately.
• Financial Reviews: Analyze monthly financial statements and conduct P&L reviews with assigned branches.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, considered an Entry-Level role.
• Experience: 1–2 years of previous experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting role is preferred.
• Skills: Advanced reconciliations, month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, detailed financial reporting, income statement analytics, financial statement analysis, P&L reviews, audit request completion.
• Bonus: Experience with ERP systems is preferred; military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.
