Staff Accountant | Snap Inc.

The Tone:

This Staff Accountant role is crucial for ensuring the company’s financial health by providing accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting. The position supports strategic and operational decisions, helping inform investors and consistently meet reporting obligations.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person (4+ days/week in an assigned office location, with pay zones in CA, WA, NYC, and other regions)
• Pay: $76000–$133000 yearly
• Team: Accounting team, partnering with cross-functional teams
• Mission: Analyze accounting treatment, record and report transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Process: Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process for assigned areas.
• Reporting: Prepare materials for internal and external financial reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Compliance: Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX requirements.
• Audit Support: Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, quarterly reviews, as well as periodic internal audits.
• Process Improvement: Improve and document general accounting processes for assigned areas.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent years of professional experience.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience as an accounting professional.
• Skills: Exceptional analytical and Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLookUps; strong accounting knowledge and an understanding of US GAAP; excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail; strong verbal and written communication skills; exceptional organizational skills.
• Bonus: CPA License or in progress; Big 4 firm experience; Fortune 500 and/or private company experience; experience working in cloud finance systems.
