Staff Accountant, Accounting & Business Advisory | Savant Wealth Management

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person salaried role at Savant Wealth Management, an employee-owned firm providing integrated advisory, tax, and planning services. The Staff Accountant joins the Accounting & Business Advisory team to build lasting relationships with clients. This role is crucial in delivering essential tax and consulting services, supporting specialized financial planning through the comprehensive Ideal Futures Process.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Return Preparation: Prepare front-line federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries, ensuring clear communication with tax staff and management.
• Client Engagement & Support: Manage client needs and requests, attend client meetings as necessary, and develop essential tax research skills.
• Financial Statement Assistance: Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, including bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and journal entries.
• Compliance Reporting: Support the preparation of various quarterly and annual compliance reports, working alongside senior level managers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: 0-3 years of experience in tax preparation.
• Skills: Front-line preparation of federal and state tax returns for various entity types, assistance with monthly financial statements (including bank reconciliations, payroll, journal entries), proficiency in tax and workflow software, and clear communication abilities.
