Staff Accountant | Brown & Brown

What You’ll Actually Do
• Review: Examine payable reports to identify payments ready for processing.
• Resolve: Research and resolve discrepancies, including missing carrier statements.
• Process: Prepare final payable reports, process customer return payments, and manage monthly broker payments.
• Assist: Aid in the preparation of journal entries and the maintenance of financial records.
• Support: Help uphold internal controls and compliance requirements related to payment processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, suitable for recent graduates or early-career professionals.
• Experience: Basic understanding of accounting and financial concepts; Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Skills: Strong analytical thinking to identify and solve problems; Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; Effective communication skills for collaboration and inquiry resolution.
• Bonus: Internship, co-op, campus leadership, or part-time work experience demonstrating professionalism and accountability; Exposure to accounting, finance, banking, insurance, or business operations through coursework, projects, or work experience.
