The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in supporting the firm’s diverse client needs, contributing to individual and business tax preparation, assurance engagements, and client financial analysis. What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely individual and business income tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Tax Compliance and Research: Assist with various tax compliance activities and conduct thorough tax research to address specific client needs and support strategic tax planning.
• Assurance Support: Provide essential support for audit, review, and other assurance engagements, contributing to the integrity and reliability of financial reporting for clients.
• Client Accounting and Financial Analysis: Perform detailed client accounting tasks, including reconciliation and ledger maintenance, and conduct financial analysis to provide valuable insights and support client decision-making.
• Professional Interaction: Engage directly and meaningfully with experienced accountants, managers, and firm leadership, learning from their expertise and contributing to collaborative problem-solving on client projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field, making this an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or an early-career professional seeking broad exposure to public accounting practices.
• Experience: This role is designed for an early-career professional eager to gain comprehensive experience across multiple service areas within public accounting. Prior experience in an accounting-related role is beneficial but not strictly required, as the firm values a strong desire to learn and develop into a well-rounded accounting professional.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, crucial for ensuring accuracy in financial records, tax preparation, and audit documentation; professional communication skills, enabling clear and effective interaction with clients, colleagues, managers, and firm leadership; foundational understanding of tax principles, sufficient to contribute to individual and business tax preparation and compliance activities; analytical abilities for conducting financial analysis and supporting audit and assurance engagements; and a proactive desire to learn and grow, demonstrating adaptability to demanding seasons and increasing responsibilities.
• Bonus: Actively preparing for the CPA exam or already licensed as a CPA, which is highly preferred and demonstrates a commitment to professional growth in the accounting field.
