Staff Accountant | LEVELOCITI

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at LEVELOCITI, a virtual accounting firm based in Texas, operating fully remotely. LEVELOCITI is a boutique, privately owned firm dedicated to helping small business owners and high-income individuals with their accounting and tax needs. This role is critical as the firm expands its client base significantly, requiring someone to grow alongside the business, improve processes, and take ownership of client work to build something impactful.

• Mission: This person will perform full-cycle accounting and proactively manage client financial health for small businesses and high-income individuals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Full-Cycle Accounting: Perform comprehensive full-cycle accounting for multiple clients, which includes detailed transaction categorization, accurate bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and thorough monthly or quarterly close procedures.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare precise financial statements along with their supporting schedules, and meticulously review general ledger activity to investigate and resolve any unusual or inaccurate balances.
• Client Communication: Actively communicate with clients to efficiently obtain necessary information, resolve any accounting questions they may have, and provide regular updates on their financial status.
• Financial Analysis: Develop the ability to explain complex financial results clearly, participate in client review meetings, and identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities within client financial statements.
• Compliance and Management: Assist with payroll reconciliations and other accounting-related compliance matters, maintaining organized documentation and accounting workpapers while managing multiple client deadlines and assignments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field is preferred, coupled with a fundamental understanding of general ledger accounting principles, reconciliation processes, and the preparation of financial statements.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred. Practical experience utilizing QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop is also preferred for this role.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and proven problem-solving abilities are essential. Candidates must possess clear written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Prior public accounting experience is considered helpful. We are looking for individuals with a willingness to learn continuously, accept feedback constructively, and progressively take increasing ownership of client work.
