Staff Accountant | RBC Bearings

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at RBC Bearings, located in Santa Ana, CA. RBC Bearings is a leading global manufacturer of highly engineered precision bearings, components, and essential systems, serving the industrial, aerospace, and defense markets. This Staff Accountant position is critical for maintaining the financial integrity and timely reporting of the division, directly supporting the company’s commitment to delivering world-class manufacturing and innovative engineering solutions for mission-critical applications. The role ensures that financial information accurately reflects the division’s position and adheres to necessary controls and regulations.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time

• Pay: $110000–$135000 yearly
• Mission: Owns the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and general ledger maintenance to ensure proper reflection of the division’s financial position.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Fixed Asset Software

What You’ll Actually Do
Financial Closing & Reporting: Assists in the comprehensive monthly closing process, contributing to the timely production of financial statements that guarantee accurate reporting and properly reflect the division’s financial position.
General Ledger & Journal Entries: Prepares, meticulously verifies, and controls the entering of all necessary journal entries into the General Ledger.
Account Reconciliation & Analysis: Coordinates the thorough completion and review of monthly balance sheet and profit and loss statement account analyses and reconciliations, including all intercompany activity.
Audit, Compliance & Tax Support: Assists in the coordination and preparation of financial audits as required by outside auditors, contributes to implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley, and supports the preparation of various tax reporting requirements.
Asset Management & Budgeting: Maintains the division’s fixed asset system and assists in the preparation of the annual budget, coordinating the completion of various required reports, and reviewing financial policies and procedures as necessary.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Experience: Candidates must possess 2 to 7+ years of exempt level experience. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices; understanding of principles of governmental financial administration, including budgeting, reporting, taxation, and revenue; strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to operate various computer software programs; capability to examine and verify financial documents and reports thoroughly; and excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting financial statements, reports, and analyses.
• Bonus: Desirable exposure to Fixed Asset Software; ability to supervise, train, and evaluate clerical and technical staff.
