This Staff Accountant position is an integral part of the accounting team, focusing on refining day-to-day routines, preparing for audits, and performing essential reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and support the Director of Finance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Month-End: Assist the Director of Finance in reconciling accounts and preparing supporting schedules for the month-end close process.
• Perform Reconciliations: Execute monthly reconciliations for Accounts Receivable (AR), bank statements, and various general ledger accounts.
• Prepare for Audits: Update and develop a variety of schedules as needed during the year-end auditing period to ensure readiness.
• Financial Reporting: Assist the Director of Finance with budgeting, forecasting, and preparing financial information requests.
• Team Backup: Cross-train on critical accounting duties to provide effective backup support for the Director of Finance when necessary, and assist with other accounting-related functions as they arise.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This early career role is designed for individuals seeking to apply foundational accounting principles in a practical setting.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in accounting or a closely related financial field. The role requires proven ability to maintain a high level of production while consistently producing accurate output.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills and high proficiency specifically in Microsoft Excel. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is essential. Candidates must possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with the capacity to work both independently and as a collaborative team member while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Bonus: A strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to follow-through and follow-up on tasks, and the ability to consistently meet specified timeframes and deadlines. Discretion in recognizing and maintaining confidentiality of all work materials as appropriate is also highly valued.
