The Tone:
This is a hybrid, full-time role at Exacta Land Surveyors LLC, located in Cleveland, Ohio. Exacta Land Surveyors is one of the nation’s premier residential and commercial land surveying companies, providing essential services across multiple states including Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, Florida, and Texas. This position is crucial for supporting the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, with a primary focus on managing the accounts payable cycle. The Staff Accountant will help ensure accurate and timely financial records, contributing to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Management: Administer the complete accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor maintenance, and annual 1099 reporting.
• Payment Processing: Prepare ACH, wire, and check payments in accordance with company approval policies.
• Expense Reporting Oversight: Administer the company’s expense reporting system, including employee expense reviews and corporate credit card reconciliations.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense records accurately within Sage Intacct.
• General Ledger Support: Assist with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: 0-3 years of accounting or full-cycle accounts payable experience preferred. An Associate degree with relevant experience will also be considered.
• Skills: Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAP, strong attention to detail, organization, and time management, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct preferred).
