Junior Staff Accountant | Leeds Professional Resources

The Tone:
This is a full-time Junior Staff Accountant role, located in Miami, FL, joining one of Leeds Professional Resources’ esteemed clients. The client organization is embarking on a significant technological transformation within its accounting department. This role is therefore critical for not only maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and data integrity but also for actively shaping the future of accounting processes through the successful integration of artificial intelligence. The Junior Staff Accountant will be a key contributor to these efforts, ensuring smooth financial operations while embracing and facilitating technological advancements.

• Mission: Prepare timely and accurate financial accounting data, develop improved accounting procedures, and actively support the integration and adoption of new AI systems within the accounting function.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Prepare accurate general ledger entries, meticulously maintain financial records and files, and reconcile various accounts.
• Financial Record Keeping: Prepare payments by accurately accruing expenses and ensure comprehensive and precise financial records are consistently maintained.
• Process Optimization: Develop and implement improved accounting procedures by critically analyzing and enhancing current processes and workflows.
• AI System Integration Support: Actively support the successful implementation and adoption of the company’s new AI system, including assisting with testing, data and process integration, and user adoption.
• AI Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and propose specific opportunities to leverage AI and automation for improving accounting workflows, enhancing reporting capabilities, and increasing overall efficiency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field; relevant early-career accounting experience.
• Experience: No specific years of prior experience required; Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; Exposure to AI tools, technologies, or AI-enabled business applications is a key differentiator.
• Skills: Strong analytical capabilities; Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Bonus: A genuine comfort with learning new technology and actively supporting the implementation of AI systems; Proven ability to adapt swiftly to changing processes and enthusiastically embrace emerging technologies.
