This Staff Accountant role is crucial in supporting the accounting and general ledger functions for the European region, ensuring financial accuracy and contributing to the company’s next phase of growth.

• Team: Reports to SSC EMEA Accounting Manager, providing services to the European region and supporting business units or processes within the Accounting/GL team.
• Mission: Ensures financial integrity and operational efficiency for the European region by managing key accounting processes and providing analytical support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Create accurate journal entries with all necessary calculations and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile: Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to resolve variances promptly.
• Report: Generate essential financial reports required for month-end closing activities.
• Compile: Gather and organize financial information for the accurate preparation of tax returns and audits.
• Analyze: Conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide data as needed to inform on projects or report on the status of work.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Experience: Some exposure to US GAAP, European Statutory Audit, and IFRS. Experience with ERP systems is required, and general accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Skills: Strong Excel proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, organized time management to meet deadlines, and clear, professional communication across diverse cultures.
• Bonus: Bilingual proficiency is a plus. A strong curiosity and desire for continuous learning, coupled with an ability to solve standard problems and comprehend basic business situations to advise on accounting treatment.
