What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconciliations: Prepare month-end reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
• Journal Entries: Maintain daily and monthly journal entries to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Bank Transactions: Initiate, review, and confirm bank transactions for financial accuracy.
• Tax Support: Assist with various tax filings in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Cross-Functional Backup: Provide backup to the Accounts Receivable and Trust Specialist positions to ensure continuous operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, providing a foundational understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and theories.
• Experience: 1-2 years of professional accounting experience is required. Preference is given to candidates with prior experience gained within a law firm or public accounting environment.
• Skills: Intermediate proficiency with Excel; a solid ability to understand and apply basic GAAP theories and procedures; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to manage complex financial data; professional oral and written communication abilities; and excellent attention to detail and accuracy, especially in a high-volume accounting environment. A client service mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team are also essential, alongside being self-motivated to perform under minimal supervision with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
• Bonus: Possession of a CPA license, or actively pursuing certification, is preferred, as is familiarity with Elite 3E accounting software.
