Staff Accountant | Mach Industries

The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role at Mach Industries. Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company, founded in 2023 with 350 employees, focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. The company delivers scalable, decentralized defense systems to enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies, aiming to redefine the future of warfare. This role is crucial for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting across the organization, ensuring accurate financial records and efficient business processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Data Management: Maintain and enter financial data within QuickBooks and other internal accounting systems.
• Accounts Payable Support: Support accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination.
• Record Keeping & Reconciliation: Prepare and maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation, assisting with account reconciliations and expense reporting.
• Financial Reporting Assistance: Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities, assisting with journal entries and financial data reviews.
• Cost Tracking & Analysis: Track project costs, labor charges, and program-related financial activity, generating reports and financial summaries for leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. This is an early-career role requiring a basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Experience: 0-2+ years of accounting experience, including internships or entry-level finance roles. Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar systems is required.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines are essential. Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, work independently while collaborating, and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• Bonus: Experience in government contracting, aerospace, manufacturing, or defense environments, along with familiarity with DCAA, FAR, or government accounting practices. Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or project cost tracking, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are preferred. Self-starting capability and a high level of professionalism are also valued.
