Staff Accountant | Waymark Advisors

The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid Staff Accountant role at Waymark Advisors, located in Claremore, OK. Waymark Advisors provides outsourced accounting, financial reporting, and advisory services to small and midsize businesses, nonprofit organizations, and high-growth startups, helping them grow with clarity and confidence. This position offers a recent accounting graduate or early-career professional broad client and industry exposure. You will work with experienced professionals to develop technical accounting expertise and client service skills.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record: Maintain accurate financial transactions for various client organizations.
• Prepare: Create journal entries and manage general ledger accounts.
• Reconcile: Balance bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist: Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support: Participate in special projects related to business growth, acquisitions, and financing transactions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required for this entry-level position.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft 365; Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities; Exceptional attention to detail; Clear verbal and written communication; Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Bonus: Experience with Sage Intacct and/or QuickBooks Online (QBO); Internship, part-time accounting, bookkeeping, or related business experience; Interest in pursuing CPA certification; Experience working in a team-based environment.
