Staff Accountant | GC America

The Tone:
This is an in-person role at GC America. GC America is a leading global manufacturer of world-class professional dental consumable materials. This pivotal role is crucial for ensuring all financial activity is accurately recorded by analyzing financial data, posting journal entries, and preparing financial statements. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller, contributing to the consistent financial operations of the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to the monthly close schedule.
• Closing: Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures, including accrual analysis and journal entries.
• Asset Management: Record fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions, and depreciation in the accounting system.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile daily cash transactions for all bank accounts and prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Compliance: Prepare certain sales tax returns, maintain the tax calendar, and assist with financial and tax audits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires education generally equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years accounting/finance experience.
• Skills: Strong understanding of accounting concepts (debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation), advanced Excel data analysis, excellent numeracy, and strong communication skills.
• Bonus: It is desirable to have attained a CPA, 1 year of public accounting experience, and advance use and technique in SAP FI/CO.
