Staff Accountant | W3Global

The Tone:
This is an early career role with W3Global, supporting their corporate accounting team. W3Global provides accounting support for a national franchise organization. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records by managing the full accounts payable process and assisting with key general accounting activities. The Staff Accountant contributes directly to the integrity of financial reporting, supports month-end close, and ensures smooth cross-functional accounting operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Management: Manage the full daily accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, general ledger coding, approval follow-up, vendor communication, statement reconciliation, payment batches, and issue resolution.
• Journal Entry Preparation: Prepare assigned routine journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, prepaid amortization, corrections, and supporting schedules.
• Account Reconciliation: Complete assigned account reconciliations, research differences, prepare workpapers, and assist with basic variance review to support month-end and year-end close.
• Franchise Accounting Support: Provide support for franchise accounting matters, including advertising-cycle questions, franchise true-ups, Salesforce cases, and accounting-queue calls.
• Process and Control Maintenance: Follow company policies and internal controls, protect confidential information, and recommend practical workflow and documentation improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field, with foundational knowledge of accrual accounting, general ledger coding, journal entries, prepaid expenses, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Recent graduates with relevant coursework or internships are encouraged to apply.
• Experience: Relevant accounting internship or one to two years of accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or public accounting experience.
• Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including lookup formulas and PivotTables, and comfort learning new accounting systems. Demonstrated ability to manage daily deadlines, research discrepancies, ask informed questions, and explain findings clearly, alongside strong accuracy, organization, professional communication, accountability, and follow-through.
• Bonus: Hands-on experience with Accounting Seed, Salesforce, or comparable integrated platforms, or experience improving procedures, documentation, or recurring workflows.
