The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role at SqlDBM, located remotely. SqlDBM builds an enterprise data modeling platform that helps large-scale data organizations design schemas, govern metadata, and build a trusted semantic layer. This role is pivotal for the finance team, supporting daily accounting operations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records in compliance with GAAP.

• Mission: Manages core general ledger functions and supports month-end close to ensure accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger: Record and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP standards.
• Reconciliations: Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets, resolving discrepancies.
• Close Processes: Support month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes by preparing necessary entries and schedules.
• Accounts Management: Manage vendor bills, employee expense reports, customer invoicing, and cash collections.
• Revenue Recognition: Assist with SaaS revenue recognition and deferred revenue schedules for subscription contracts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; progressive accounting experience.
• Experience: 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle general ledger and month-end close; proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
• Skills: Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles; strong Excel and Google Sheets skills; high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
• Bonus: CPA, CPA candidate, or progress toward certification; experience with SaaS or subscription-based companies; familiarity with Maxio and Ramp.
