Staff Accountant | DeWitt Giger, LLP

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger: Prepare and maintain general ledger entries to ensure financial accuracy.
• Reconciliations: Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts regularly.
• Close Processes: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, supporting timely financial reporting.
• Compliance & Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements, assist with tax return workpapers, and help ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with team members, review documentation, analyze variances, respond to inquiries, and contribute to process improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, with solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices including general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms) and productivity tools (Excel, Microsoft Office applications). Prior experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or corporate accounting is beneficial.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with close attention to detail and accuracy; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
• Bonus: Progress toward CPA licensure or relevant certification is preferred.
