Sr. Analyst, Supply Chain Strategy & Analytics | CarMax
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at CarMax, located in Richmond, VA, working onsite four days a week. This role is central to this transformation, providing strategic direction and data-driven insights to guide decision-making across supply chain operations. • Team: Supply Chain Strategy team, collaborating with Product, Technology, and Operations partners
• Mission: Optimize the vehicle acquisition, reconditioning, and movement journey to support retail sales growth.
• Tech Stack: SQL, PowerBI, Tableau
What You’ll Actually Do
• Partnership: Establish and maintain close working relationships with product managers or operational partners.
• Experimentation: Design and analyze tests to evaluate the effectiveness of changes to products or operational processes.
• Tool Development: Enhance analytical tools, including models, reports, and dashboards, utilizing them to monitor and drive ongoing performance.
• Strategic Analysis: Apply business and technical knowledge to solve complex problems, produce results, and make strategic recommendations.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex analytical topics and insights clearly to diverse audiences with varying technical backgrounds.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Four-year undergraduate degree with strong academic performance; experience in an analytical or strategic role.
• Experience: Two or more years of experience in an analytical or strategic role; experience conducting large-scale data analysis with a willingness to gain proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Skills: Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, quantitative/qualitative analysis, and the ability to apply business and technical knowledge.
• Bonus: Willingness and enthusiasm to collaborate with a team of analysts and business partners who are regularly shaping strategy.
