Description: SQA Automation Intern
This is a 10-week internship (June 9th – August 15th) focused on developing automation for Quality Assurance testing of an ML/AI weapons detection system called “Express.” The role involves working across different engineering functions, developing skills in both hardware and software testing.
Responsibilities:
• Weeks 1-5:
• Understand Evolv’s product, culture, and testing challenges.
• Identify and document requirements for a new test tool.
• Develop and test a solution meeting those requirements.
• Verify and deploy the tool for use in the Express test process.
• Participate in a team of Quality Engineers.
• Weeks 6-10:
• Present the developed solution to the company.
• Document and communicate changes to the test harness.
• Utilize the test harness to support production software releases.
• Gain career clarity.
Technical Skills & Development:
The internship involves technical development in:
• C++
• AWS services
• Databases
• Python
The intern will gain proficiency in navigating existing test automation devices and codebases within two weeks, and will have implemented and tested prototype solutions within six weeks. By the end of the internship (10 weeks), they are expected to create a packaged version of the automated test harness, including device and software components.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
The intern will actively engage in team meetings, build relationships, and become a recognized contributor within six weeks, evolving into a vital team member by the end of the internship. The intern will report to the Director of SQA. Location and Compensation:
The internship is located in Waltham, MA, with some flexibility for remote work (minimum 4 days on-site required). Relocation assistance is not provided. The hourly pay range is $20-$27, depending on education level.
