About the Job: SQA Automation Engineering Co-op
This is a full-time SQA Automation Engineering Co-op position designed for early career talent within the SharkNinja Early Edge Experience program. The program provides valuable industry exposure, a fast-paced professional environment, meaningful projects, and opportunities for professional development, community events, and networking. Co-ops will have the chance to showcase their contributions to SharkNinja leaders.
Work Period: January 2026 through June 2026.
Location & Schedule:
This is a 40-hour-per-week position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite in Needham, MA, with the remaining days worked remotely. No relocation or housing assistance is provided for this role.
Compensation Range:
The compensation ranges from $26/hr to $35/hr. Specific compensation is determined based on a standardized scale aligned with the applicant’s educational level at the time of hire.
Role Description:
As a valued member of the Quality Assurance team, the SQA Automation Engineering Co-op will gain hands-on experience testing real products and connected systems that enhance everyday life for millions of consumers. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to execute manual test cases, analyze performance, and contribute to the creation of tools and processes that uphold SharkNinja’s commitment to excellence in smart home innovation. The ideal candidate is curious about product development, detail-oriented, passionate about quality, and enthusiastic about problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
• Assist in manually testing a variety of SharkNinja products, with a strong focus on consumer empathy.
• Assist in the development of new testing protocols and test cases based on product requirements, new features, and challenging real-world environments.
• Document test results thoroughly and create comprehensive documentation for defects.
• Clearly communicate progress, blockers, and discovered issues to the wider manual testing team.
• Work cross-functionally to build a holistic understanding of all aspects of the product system.
• Provide input and feedback on how to continually improve processes within the team.
• Help other teams troubleshoot issues related to test units or field returns.
• Participate in reviews of product and software requirements.
• Participate in project sprints and daily standups to report progress and identify issues.
• Follow defined system testing practices and procedures.
Attributes & Skills (Requirements):
• Education: Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program.
• Availability: Must be able to work a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite in Needham, MA.
• Coursework: Relevant coursework in fields such as electrical/mechanical engineering, computer science, or robotics.
• Experience with Robotics: Practical experience with robotics, including microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino and Raspberry Pi) and sensors (e.g., IR and Lidar).
• Firmware Products: Experience working with firmware-based consumer products.
• SDLC/STLC Knowledge: Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Test Management Tools: Experience with Jira or similar Test Case/Defect Management Tools.
• Programming/Scripting: Software programming or scripting experience (e.g., C++, Python, TTL).
• CSQE Familiarity: Familiarity with topics in the CSQE Body of Knowledge.
