The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at The Bonadio Group, located in multiple Upstate New York offices. The Bonadio Group is a public accounting firm committed to launching careers. This role matters as it provides interns with meaningful accounting work, firsthand exposure to public accounting challenges, and opportunities to collaborate with experienced professionals. Interns will develop technical skills, build professional confidence, and contribute to real client engagements.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person Albany, Buffalo, East Aurora (Spring Only), Rochester, Syracuse, NY
• Pay: $22 hourly
• Mission: To perform meaningful accounting work and gain firsthand exposure to the challenges and rewards of public accounting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax: Prepare various individual, small business, and corporate tax returns, assisting with research and planning projects.
• Small Business Advisory: Support bookkeeping, accounting functions, and financial statement compilations for small business clients.
• Assurance: Engage in audit processes, specialized projects, and initiatives like Employee Benefit Plan engagements and technical accounting standards updates.
• Analysis: Analyze financial information and supporting documentation across different client engagements.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with experienced professionals from Staff to Partner levels to develop skills and deliver client service.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Active enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s in accounting program, with coursework supporting progress toward CPA eligibility. Entry-Level.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and analytical abilities, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
