• Team: Reports to the Chem Spray Manager and provides instruction to other members of the spray crew.
• Mission: Ensures the proper and safe application of chemicals for landscape maintenance, contributing to the health and aesthetics of outdoor environments.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Chemical Application: Execute the precise spray application of various chemicals, including herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers, to maintain and enhance landscape health and appearance, operating specialized equipment and adhering to application rates for effective control and nutrition.
• Safety Adherence: Maintain a diligent awareness of and unwavering commitment to chemical safety protocols, encompassing proper handling, storage, mixing, disposal, and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure the safety of oneself, the team, clients, and the environment.
• Task Completion: Consistently follow through on all assigned landscape maintenance and chemical application tasks, managing responsibilities effectively from initiation to thorough completion to meet schedules and program requirements.
• Instruction Compliance: Accurately interpret and meticulously follow all provided instructions and guidelines from the Chem Spray Manager, ensuring all chemical applications are performed correctly, safely, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates for this role must possess or be capable of obtaining a Qualified Applicator License (QAL), a critical certification demonstrating proficiency and legal authorization for professional chemical application. Additionally, a basic understanding of various plant materials is required to effectively identify plant health issues, understand growth cycles, and apply appropriate treatments safely and effectively within diverse landscape environments.
• Experience: While specific years of experience are not mandated, the ability to obtain and maintain a QAL is paramount, involving either prior experience with chemical application best practices or a readiness to learn and meet the stringent requirements for licensing. Experience will be gained through hands-on work under guidance, developing practical skills in operating spray equipment and executing precise application techniques.
• Skills: Essential communication skills include fluency in both oral and written English and Spanish, which is vital for understanding detailed instructions from the Chem Spray Manager, collaborating effectively with diverse team members, and communicating with property owners or site managers regarding services and safety precautions.
