THE POSITION: Sports Trader Intern
Our roster has an opening with your name on it
As a Sports Trader Intern at FanDuel, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for formulating and managing the odds that our customers bet on. This role involves utilizing statistics, in-house models, industry news, and sports knowledge to create the most accurate odds possible. You will also learn to manage these odds throughout their lifecycle, including adjusting prices in response to breaking news or real-time game developments using our proprietary models. FanDuel is committed to providing comprehensive training and support for successful candidates, recognizing that not everyone will have prior experience in this specialized field.
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about Sport and comfortable with numbers. If you possess a high attention to detail, can remain calm under pressure, and love sport, we can teach you the rest. Valued additional skills include the ability to work effectively in a team, stay organized, and consistently keep our customers front-of-mind.
This role mandates an office presence each day, with the very occasional non-operational shift available from home if you choose. Our office is conveniently located in Jersey City (NJ), directly across from the Newport PATH station and Manhattan. While quiet areas are available, your primary workstation will be in the busy trading area, equipped with multiple screens and potentially your own TV. This environment experiences constant noise and media activity, typical of a dynamic trading floor. The role will also require some weekend and out-of-hours work, as sports schedules extend beyond typical business hours.
THE GAME PLAN

• You will monitor our prices and learn to make necessary adjustments, considering factors like player news, customer behavior, and industry prices.
• You will gain exposure to key tools, tech, and systems including Excel, SQL, and Tableau.
Primary Responsibilities
• You will learn how to use our sports models to fluctuate our odds throughout the game, depending on real-time events. This will be a significant part of your training, focusing on how to trade a live MLB game.
• Collaborate with various teams across the business to manage aspects such as liabilities, onsite display, and ensuring compliance across different jurisdictions.
• Compare competitor offerings to ensure FanDuel maintains the best offering in the market for our customers.
• Opportunity to contribute to other projects that may arise during your internship.
