Job Description

This is a Sports Management Internship at Volo, working directly with their team to assist with day-to-day league operations. The internship focuses on gaining practical experience in the social sports industry, with potential for a full-time position upon completion.

Key aspects of the internship:

Training: Interns will receive an overview of sales, business development, networking, operations, and finance. The goal is to provide valuable knowledge and expertise for future career endeavors in the sports industry.

• It is an unpaid internship, but college credit is offered.

INTERNSHIP PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Sports Operations):

• Assist with game reports, customer service inquiries, scheduling, and data entry.
• Support with league audits & evaluations.
• Provide administrative and clerical support for all departments.
• Conduct sales calls to team captains regarding upcoming events and registration deadlines.
• Manage inventory and upkeep of sports equipment and shirts.
Provide facility and field maintenance as needed, and suggest venue improvements.
• Handle other league-day preparations, including field setup and supervision.
Set up & take down fields and/or bar setups.
• Use the host app to check in players.
• Execute fundraising activities to support kids’ programs.
Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league, ensuring players feel welcome and meet each other.

• A passion for sports and social activities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• A self-directed leader who takes initiative and applies a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn and improve.
Comfortable with all types of clients and decision makers, prioritizing customer service.
• Works well in a team atmosphere and requires low supervision/direction.
Self-reliant and eager to take on any task, regardless of size.
Strong customer service skills.
Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate.
Punctual and professional, with an attitude that embraces “work hard, play hard”.
