821 Tennis: A lifestyle-driven tennis and wellness company primarily based in Miami. It aims to reimagine the tennis experience by building community and elevating the sport through movement, music, and meaning. Its activities include adult recreational leagues, cultural pop-up events, youth development, and high-performance coaching.
Athlete Wellness Collective (AWC): A global storytelling and wellness platform dedicated to athletes, artists, and cultural creators. It spotlights performance, recovery, and identity across mental, physical, and emotional dimensions.

Together, these brands are focused on reshaping the future of sport from the inside out.

About the Job

Position: Sport & Culture Fellow (Marketing + Content)

Company: 821 Tennis x Athlete Wellness Collective (AWC)

Location: Remote or Miami-based preferred.

Hours: Approximately 15–20 hours per week (flexible).

Duration: The fellowship is for August–December 2025, with an option to extend for 3–6 months and potentially grow into a paid role or longer-term opportunity.

Compensation: This is an unpaid position. However, it offers significant benefits including:

Role Overview: This is described as more than a typical internship, offering real creative ownership. The fellow will be an integral part of a small, creative team, directly collaborating with the founder to shape the voice, content, and cultural storytelling for both 821 Tennis and AWC. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about writing, brand voice, content strategy, community building, and the intersection of sport and culture.

Responsibilities:
• Manage and schedule social content for both brands (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok optional).
• Draft captions, short blogs, newsletters, and repurpose content from podcasts or interviews.
• Support outreach and growth campaigns (media, influencers, community partners).
• Research trends and content ideas that align with the brands’ tone and mission.
• Assist with events, creative direction, and small campaigns (in-person or virtually).
• Report on basic content performance and suggest format ideas for growth.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:
• A creative communicator with clear writing skills and an understanding of brand voice.
• Enthusiastic about sports, wellness, creative work, and storytelling that fosters community.
• Proficient with tools such as Canva, Google Docs, Flodesk, or Mailchimp.
• Detail-oriented, self-directed, and organized.
• Interested in journalism, design, PR, tennis, or performance culture.
• Passionate about digital storytelling, community building, and inspiring content.
• Possesses a positive and collaborative attitude.

Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. This role is primarily aimed at college undergraduates or master’s students in journalism, marketing, or communications.
• Experience in sports editorial or marketing is a plus.
• Knowledge or interest in sports (with a bonus for tennis), fitness, wellness, or creative culture.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
