This job posting describes a 9-12 month internship program within Kaiser Permanente for a Speech-Language Pathology intern. The intern will work under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist, gaining experience in evaluation and treatment of communication disorders.

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist, the intern provides evaluation and treatment for communication disorders.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provides assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders for both adult and pediatric populations.
• Administers diagnostic tests and implements appropriate treatments.
Advises physicians and patients of test results.
Trains for competency on performing videofluroscopic swallow studies.
• Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis. At any time, Kaiser Permanente reserves the right to reevaluate and change job descriptions, or to change such positions from salaried to hourly pay status. Such changes are generally implemented only after notice is given to affected employees.

Experience:

• N/A (This is a 9-12 month internship program).

Education:

Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology required by date of hire.

License, Certification, Registration:

Speech-Language Pathology Required Professional Experience License – Temporary (California) required at hire
National Provider Identifier required at hire
Basic Life Support required at hire

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
