Job Description:
This internship opportunity at Sheppard Pratt School Hunt Valley is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) graduate program. The internship will focus on providing practical experience in a school setting, working with students with diverse needs.
Key Aspects of the Internship:
• Summer Term: The internship runs during the summer term, beginning in May and ending August 1st.
• Time Commitment: Approximately 32 hours per week.
• Learning Model:
• Direct Supervision: You will receive direct supervision from a licensed SLP.
• Feedback: Regular feedback will be provided by the supervising SLP to guide your development.
• Direct Modeling: 1:1 modeling of expectations and procedures for interventions will be provided.
• Student Expectations:
• Daily Feedback: Provide daily feedback regarding planning and intervention implementation
• Lesson Planning: Create and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
• Therapy Notes: Accurately document therapy sessions by writing therapy notes.
• Collaboration: Actively collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, therapists, and counselors, to ensure coordinated care.
• Learning Proactivity: Take the initiative to seek learning opportunities and expand your knowledge and skills.
