This is an Association of Psychology Postdoctoral Internship position for a Special Education – Non-licensed/School Psychologist Intern, with two (2) available positions.
• Position Type: Non-Exempt.

• Reports to: Assistant Director of Special Education.

Contract Length/Hours & Compensation:
The internship is for 260 days, totaling 2,000 hours. The salary is $16.83 per hour, with a maximum annual earning of $35,000.
Education/Experience Required:
• Must have, or have the ability to obtain, a current School Psychologist Intern Authorization from the Colorado Department of Education.
• A four-year college degree in behavioral/social sciences.
• Completion of graduate coursework in educational/psychological assessment.
• Any other combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered.
Job Summary/Objective:
The Intern experience is designed to be comprehensive, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities crucial to school psychology. This includes targeted and comprehensive assessment, consultation with teachers, crisis intervention, individual and group work, progress monitoring, behavioral and academic interventions, and aiding in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Interns will gain invaluable experience by serving on various district-wide teams, such as Autism, Resource Team, Multicultural Assessment Team, Traumatic Brain Injury, Behavior Support Team, Assistive Technology, and Response to Interventions Teams. Supervision is provided according to NASP (National Association of School Psychologists) guidelines.
Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):
The intern will perform a variety of duties to gain experience and support school-based programs, including:
• Participating in activities related to behavior, academic, and psychological intervention and consultation.
• Observing and evaluating children with learning or behavioral difficulties according to state and federal laws.
• Serving as a member of IEP teams and support teams to develop service plans and recommend interventions.
• Suggesting external medical, psychiatric, psychological, counseling, or other treatment resources.
• Assisting in conducting individual and group counseling with students, as requested.
• Acting as a consultant for the special educational needs of identified students.
• Preparing and submitting psycho-educational reports to document assessment results and provide recommendations.
• Consulting with personnel from community health, social welfare agencies, and juvenile courts.
• Providing in-service training to school personnel.
• Attending weekly individual supervision with assigned mentor psychologist(s).
• Performing other assigned duties and serving as a member of district-wide committees/teams.
• Complying with all School District policies and procedures.

• Demonstrated skills in facilitation, conflict resolution, and student and adult learning.
• Demonstrated skills in data gathering and analysis.
• Evidence of organization, planning, and time management skills.
