Job Description: Space IT Engineering Tools License Management Lead
This role is a leadership position within Lockheed Martin’s Space division, responsible for overseeing the planning and maintenance of engineering software licenses. You will be the key point of contact for all things related to software licenses, ensuring that the Space business’s needs are met while remaining within budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
• Forecast Budget Needs and Vet Software Renewals: Partner with key business organizations to anticipate future licensing needs, develop budget proposals, and evaluate existing software renewal options.
• Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors to discuss business requirements, request quotes, and negotiate licensing agreements.
• License Management: Submit purchase requests, approve invoices, distribute licenses, track actual usage, and manage license inventory.
• End-User Support: Provide support to end users, addressing inquiries and troubleshooting licensing issues.
• Enterprise Collaboration: Work closely with the enterprise team to ensure alignment on common tools and licensing strategies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a program manager, demonstrating the ability to drive decisions and initiatives to completion.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with a knack for understanding and communicating business needs to various stakeholders, including vendors, enterprise team members, customers, and internal colleagues.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, enabling you to effectively lead teams and develop solutions for complex problems.
• Ability to quickly learn and grasp new concepts related to engineering tools, ensuring you can effectively support the business’s requirements.
Desired Skills:
• Experience using SAP for license procurement and tracking.
• Expertise in budgeting and financial management.
• Knowledge of engineering tools, COTS products, and vendors.
• Experience with agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.
